Board Chair, TD Bank Group

Brian Levitt is the non-executive Board Chair at TD Bank Group. The Board Chair is appointed annually by the non-management directors of the Board. He is independent and his role as Board Chair is to facilitate the functioning of the Board independently of management and to maintain and enhance the quality of our corporate governance at TD. His key responsibilities are set out in the Charter of the Board Chair which is available on our website. He also serves as Chair of the Corporate Governance Committee and is member of the Human Resources Committee.

Brian M. Levitt became the Board Chair on January 1, 2011.

Mr. Levitt is the former President and then Chief Executive Officer of Imasco Limited, during the time one of Canada’s largest consumer goods and services companies, which included Canada Trust as one of its major holdings. In addition to being a director of Xebec Adsorption Inc. and The Charles Schwab Corporation, Mr. Levitt serves as Vice-Chair of the Board of the C.D. Howe Institute. Mr. Levitt served as a director of Domtar Inc. (predecessor of Domtar Corporation) from 2004 to 2021 and was Chairman of the Board from 2004 to 2007. In 2015, he was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada.

Mr. Levitt has been an independent director on TD’s Board since December 2008.

Canadian Retail serves over 16 million customers in the Canadian personal and commercial banking, wealth, and insurance businesses. Personal Banking provides a comprehensive suite of deposit, payment and lending products and advice through a network of 1,061 branches, 3,381 automated teller machines (ATM), and telephone, mobile and internet banking services. Auto Finance provides flexible financing options to customers at point of sale for automotive and recreational vehicle purchases. Business Banking offers a broad range of customized products and services to help business owners meet their financing, investment, cash management, international trade, and day-to-day banking needs. Merchant Solutions provides point-of-sale payment solutions for large and small businesses. The wealth business offers wealth and asset management products and advice to retail and institutional clients in Canada through the direct investing, advice-based, and asset management businesses. The insurance business offers property and casualty insurance, as well as life and health insurance products to customers across Canada.

U.S. Retail

U.S. Retail includes the Bank’s personal, business banking and wealth management operations in the U.S., as well as the Bank’s investment in Schwab. Operating under the TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank® brand, the U.S. Retail Bank serves 9.6 million customers in stores along the U.S. eastern seaboard, and via auto dealerships and credit card partner business locations nationwide. Personal Banking provides a full range of financial products and services to customers mainly from Maine to Florida through a network of 1,148 stores, 2,701 ATMs, telephone, and mobile and internet banking services. Business Banking offers a diversified range of products and services to help businesses meet their financing, investment, cash management, international trade, and day-today banking needs. Wealth management provides wealth products and services to retail and institutional clients. The contribution from the Bank’s investment in Schwab is reported as equity in net income of an investment in Schwab with a one-month lag.

Wholesale Banking serves over 12,000 corporate, government, and institutional clients in key financial markets around the world. Operating under the TD Securities brand, Wholesale Banking offers capital markets and corporate and investment banking services to external clients and provides market access and wholesale banking solutions for the Bank’s wealth and retail operations and their customers.
