TWO DISTINCT MODERN LUXURY BRANDS
We are reimagining the future of modern luxury by design through our two distinct, British brands.
Our brands are steeped in a rich tapestry of timeless designs that resonate with people, creating an emotional attachment, an intimacy, that is truly unique on the global stage.
Jaguar Land Rover has been a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Motors, in which Tata Sons is the largest shareholder, since 2008.
Our customers are at the heart of everything we do. Whether going Above and Beyond with Land Rover, or being Fearlessly Creative with Jaguar, we will always deliver experiences that people will love, for life.
JAGUAR
The origins of Jaguar can be traced back to 1922, with the Swallow Sidecar Company.
Since the first Jaguar car was produced in 1935, we have pushed the boundaries of what is possible, inspired by our founder, Sir William Lyons. In 1948 the legendary XK120 was launched, the ‘120’ refers to the car’s top speed, making it the world’s fastest production car.
Jaguar was the creator of the world’s first disc brake. Our history of disc brake development with Dunlop dates back to the winning 1953 Le Mans race, where Jaguar made the C-Type lighter and fitted improved disc brakes.
In 1961, Jaguar launched what became the most beautiful and iconic sports car of all time, the E-Type.
The Jaguar DNA is instantly recognisable across our range – there is an unmistakable purity of line that runs through all of our models. Agile and powerful; sleek and seductive; confident and instinctive: all these qualities are reflected in our cars.
Two brands. Two distinct personalities. Both connected by the elements of quality and sustainability that underpin Jaguar Land Rover’s future of modern luxury by design.

JAGUAR LAND ROVER OPENS MANUFACTURING PLANT IN SLOVAKIA
JAGUAR LAND ROVER TODAY OPENED ITS STATE-OF-THE-ART €1.4BN (£1BN) MANUFACTURING FACILITY IN NITRA, SLOVAKIA, THE FIRST TIME A UK AUTOMOTIVE COMPANY HAS OPENED PLANT IN THIS COUNTRY.
Global businesses require global operational footprints. While Jaguar Land Rover’s heart and soul remain firmly anchored in the UK, expanding internationally only enriches and strengthens our UK business.
Today’s opening of our next generation manufacturing plant in Nitra, Slovakia represents the start of a new era in manufacturing for Jaguar Land Rover. It is the latest milestone in our long-term globalisation programme and the culmination of four years planning. As with our existing manufacturing facilities located in the UK, China, Brazil, India and Austria, this high-tech plant in Slovakia will complement and support our corporate, R&D and engineering functions headquartered in the UK.

1.5 MILLION AND COUNTING: JAGUAR LAND ROVER CELEBRATES CLEAN ENGINE MANUFACTURING MILESTONE
Friday 17 July 2020, Whitley, UK – Jaguar Land Rover has now produced over 1.5 million Ingenium engines, as the UK manufacturer celebrates its leading facility adding a new, advanced powertrain offering.
The Engine Manufacturing Centre in Wolverhampton, UK, produces the ultra-efficient Ingenium powertrain family, providing a range of clean and electrified powertrains for all Jaguar and Land Rover models*.
The advanced Ingenium family, which includes a range of clean, refined and efficient diesel, petrol and electrified engines, are built to maximise performance whilst at the same time reducing the environmental impact and running costs for customers. Developed and manufactured in-house in the UK, Jaguar and Land Rover’s all-aluminium Ingenium engine designs are modular, flexible and scalable, with common core technologies.
The latest addition to the Ingenium range is the six-cylinder diesel engine, which offers enhanced performance, smoothness and efficiency, powering the new Range Rover and new Range Rover Sport. The advanced in-line Ingenium diesel engine, featuring mild hybrid technology, joins the range of clean and efficient six-cylinder petrol and four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines manufactured at Jaguar Land Rover’s facility in the West Midlands.
The evolving, efficient Ingenium family supports the company’s long-term commitment to reduce vehicle emissions and improve fuel economy across its vehicle range. This is part of its Destination Zero mission and a commitment to reducing emissions and making environments cleaner through relentless innovation.
Jaguar Land Rover will continue to develop its Ingenium technology, continue to advance the electrification of its model line-up and establish a concept hydrogen fuel cell powertrain solution**. The Engine Manufacturing Centre also houses the assembly of Electric Drive Units (EDUs), offering full flexibility between new petrol and diesel engines and EDUs for those customers who want to make the switch from conventional to electrified vehicles.
The Wolverhampton site is complemented by a growing electrification ecosystem in the Midlands, with the innovative and technologically advanced Battery Assembly Centre at nearby Hams Hall assembling PHEV and BEV batteries. Together, they will power the next generation of Jaguar and Land Rover electrified vehicles.
We are experiencing unprecedented demand for cleaner-running vehicles, so it’s more important than ever to deliver clean and efficient engines without compromising on the performance or all-terrain capabilities our customers have come to expect.
Our Ingenium powertrains offer the very best of both worlds – better fuel efficiency and lower emissions, and even greater torque for a more responsive and engaging drive.
